The Outyard is an interview-based podcast with occassional rants and readings, recorded in Portland, Maine.
The Outyard was conceived of as a space for storytelling and healing. In a time when it is said that 'nothing is sacred', we wish to bring a tangible sense of the sacred back into everyday life. The Outyard (also known as Jotungarth, or Utgard) is the "land of the giants," home to forces beyond the control of either gods or men. The hidden stories that weave throughout our unconscious mind here become real. |

In the beginning...
The Outyard was created in response to a need. Deeper conversations and difficult topics never come up in the flow of the hustle-and-bustle of everyday modern life. The classrooms and churches and libraries were not cultivating the kind of space that was yearned for. Thus, the Outyard was discovered as another option.

Lord only knows. We're just getting started. Hopefully this is bringing us somewhere.
Our goal is to spread understanding, wisdom, and patience through the fire of our troubled times. Our goal is to make sense of nonsense. Are we there yet? |
